Does My Vehicle Have To Be In Running Condition?

NO! However, some older vehicles may not return enough money when sold to cover the cost of accepting it for donation. Please call us at 1-866-435-7242 and one of our professional staff members will assist you in determining if we can accept your vehicle. Please know we will try our best to accept your vehicle.
How much can I claim on my taxes?
New legislation regarding the donation of vehicles became effective January 1,
2005. Previously, IRS guidelines stated that donors had been allowed to claim
the fair market value of their vehicle at the time it was donated. These new
regulations allow you two options when determining how much you may claim:
1) You may claim the lesser of the vehicle's Fair Market Value or $500
- or -
2) You may claim the auction sale price, if it exceeds $500.
After your vehicle is sold at auction, you will receive a receipt in the mail
from the charity. Please save this receipt and file it with your taxes. This
receipt was specifically designed to document your vehicle donation and adhere
to IRS regulations. The sale price of your vehicle will be listed on this
receipt. Again, if your vehicle sells for more than $500, then you may claim
that sale price as your donation.
What Vehicle May I Donate?
Any car, truck, van, motorcycle, SUV or fleet vehicle may be donated. Please call us at 1-866-435-7242 and one of our courteous staff members will be happy to assist you.
